Preparing the ideal wedding speech

A wedding involves a lot of careful planning and expense. There are many
things to arrange and people find them very stressful. But when the big
day becomes close nothing becomes any more stressful than preparing your
wedding speech. The bride's father, the groom and the best man will all
have to deliver a speech after the wedding. It is usually carried out at
the reception and after the meals. The bride's father will usually thank
everyone for coming and welcome the groom into the family. The groom will
then do his speech saying how he is so fortunate to have married the bride
and joined into such a caring family. The best man's speech is one which
usually causes the most fear. He must include various humour as well as
seriousness in his speech. The problem he has is that his sense of humour
may not be the same as the other people in the room and he must try to be
very careful with the jokes he chooses.

This goes the same way if he chooses to bring up something from the
groom's past as many best men do. Either an ex-girlfriend or drunken stunt
is usually mentioned by the best man. But he must be very careful not to
offend anyone and of course not to get the groom in too much trouble with
his new wife. So getting the balance just right is a very worrying thing
for the best man. The length of the speech really depends on how much you
want to include. It shouldn't be too short so people don't remember it
but on the same token it shouldn't go on forever and be very boring to the
people listening. You should try to aim for about five minutes. This
should give you enough time to include all the important things as well as
some humour.

The main things you need to include are to thank the groom for allowing
you to be his best man. You must also thank the bridesmaids and pageboys
for doing a great job. As long as you include these main points then you
can work the funny parts of your speech around this. Although your
wedding speech is very important, you really shouldn't worry about it too
much as it'll make you even more nervous on the big day.
